WORKING TOGETHER

My treasured collection of kind words from some lovely past clients is here, for information about me and how I arrived at full spectrum doula work go here

I adore this work, I think about birth, babies and reproductive rights all the time, I inhale whatever new information I can get and yap about them all day long! But what kind of doula am I?

Nurturing, protective, knowledgable, hopefully funny??

I love to build rapport with clients over time in a way that feels organic and intuitive. We’re likely going to be navigating at least a few seasons alongside one another so having a relationship based on trust, mutuality and alignment in values feels incredibly important. I love getting to know clients in different settings and configurations. Sometimes a chat and a wander is just as nourishing and helpful as one where we sit down and discuss all the ins and outs of the choices available to you.

A close up shot of Joey's torso, arms and legs while they perform sifting with a blue and purple rebozo, their pregnant client is just out of sight. Joey is wearing a black tracksuit and gold thumb ring.
Joey is a white transmasculine person with dark hair, this is a close up of their head and shoulders as they watch a birth. A hospital curtain is visible behind them.

Everyone’s needs are different when it comes to life transitions, my role is to support those needs in a way that makes you feel held and affirmed. That being said I believe that there is a doula for every client and vice-versa- I may not be for you!

I am not the most woo woo, though I do know that my gemini sun is glaringly obvious, and that magic is an intrinsic part of the life course. I am unafraid to challenge what isn’t right and have a bit of a potty mouth partly due to my burning passion for reproductive justice and better perinatal systems.

I am beyond proud and privileged to support people from all walks of life. As a queer, trans, disabled and neurodivergent person I warmly welcome clients who share some of these lived experiences. If you’re seeking support from someone who won’t just get it but will make sure those parts of you are taken into account every step of the way, please don’t hesitate to give me a shout.
