INCLUSIVE BIRTH WORK ONLINE WORKSHOP
It is finally here!
The first Inclusive Birth Work online workshop will be held on Monday, 16th March 2026 at 18:00GMT
I’ve been working on this workshop for months, and would love to meet you as I put it out like this for the first time!
This is a space to learn about the real harm exclusionary language and practice does and can do in the perinatal space. We will rethink the dominant narratives and perspectives on pregnancy, birth and postpartum as the exclusive remit of cisgender women and femininity as well as discussing how using age and gender inclusive language can contribute to better birthing experiences for everyone.
In the two hour session (incl a 15 minute break) we will cover:
✷ An introduction on how discussing pregnancy and birth with inclusivity and neutrality is beneficial to everyone who gestates and births
✷ A quick guide to the current climate around trans rights in the UK as well as globally
✷ Some ways in which the current system harms those who are not cisgender women
✷ Our biases and the very normal discomfort of getting to grips with new language
✷ The differences between exclusionary, additive and inclusive language
✷ Trans terminology 101: covering definitions and commonly used terms used by the trans community
✷ Simple ways in which you can make your practice more inclusive, both right now and long term.
✷ How we respectfully handle mistakes and missteps
✷ Q&A - an opportunity to ask questions (including those you’re too scared to ask elsewhere), we can discuss these topics openly, respectfully and judgement free.

The workshop will be held on zoom, I want it to be a very chill space so please come as you are, little ones welcome! There will be no requirement to speak outside of introductions.
Pricing:
There are three price tiers: £15, £25 and £35
I’ve done it this way to lessen the chance of the price being a barrier- if the lower price point doesn’t work for you, please feel free to email me for a lower cost or free spot.
If you are white, cisgender* and currently working, the suggested ticket tier is £25, if you are able to stretch to £35 please consider doing so as this helps me subsidise tickets for those for whom the lowest price point is inaccessible!
*your gender identity aligns with the gender you were assigned when you were born
Each workshop is limited to ten attendees, I will add further dates if/when 80% of tickets have been sold.
